Jonny Smokes can be booked as temporary replacement for the bassist, guitarist, and vocalist in your band. Jonny has a diverse playing background in many styles. With many years of professional experience in various original touring groups, cover and tribute bands, and even backing solo artists, he can quickly learn your setlists and play live or record in the studio with showmanship and skill.
A long time performer of multiple instruments, Jonny has decades of practical experience with 4, 5, and 6 string basses, acoustic and electric guitars, hand percussion, (djembe, bongos, congos etc,) drum programming, and even keyboard skills. If you need a studio musician, recording engineer or producer, his multiple talents and abilities are for hire!
Jonny performed guitar and vocal duties for the legendary metal vocal icon Warrel Dane (Nevermore, Sanctuary) during the 2010 North American tour for his first solo album, “Praises To The War Machine.”
The People Now is a Seattle based original progressive rock band that hired Jonny to fill in for a European tour in 2013. The band had such a great chemistry and bonding experience that Jonny became a full time member and recorded their follow up album and toured with the group until moving to Europe in 2016.
Jonny was a founding member of Seattle’s own tribute to Alice In Chains – “Jar Of Flies.” His role of lead guitarist and secondary vocalist helped bring the band to the top of the music scene in the Pacific Northwest.
Warrel Dane joined Jonny Smokes for one solo acoustic performance in Seattle. Jonny recorded percussion tracks and played acoustic guitar over the loops to recreate some of Warrel’s best solo songs and some unique covers.
